Srgt. Michael Delano Bates, born October 20th 1938 in Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on September 10, 2016 in Roseville, CA. He proudly served his country for three years in defense of South Korea. He called Roseville home for nearly 60 years and drove truck for Buljan Oil Company for many of those years. Michael was passionate patron of Country Gables Café and Hometown Buffett, as well as many other area restaurants and could be seen often, chatting with everyone who would take a moment to say hello. Srgt. Michael Delano Bates, born October 20th 1938 in Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on September 10, 2016 in Roseville, CA. He proudly served his country for three years in defense of South Korea. He called Roseville home for nearly 60 years and drove truck for Buljan Oil Company for many of those years. He is survived by three sons, six grandchildren, his sister Marge Mahoney of Roseville, his niece, Linda Bates of Susanville, his great niece Sierra Bates-Pollock of Chico and numerous other nieces and nephews around the country. His service will take place graveside at Roseville Cemetery on September 30th, 2016 at 1:30pm. Services under the direction of Lambert Funeral Home 916-783-0474.
